Taking place in 1962, The Sandlot is a lighthearted baseball comedy about a group of tween boys. It follows the adventures of Scotty Smalls (who is new to the neighborhood) and the local boys he is eventually befriended by. The Sandlot includes coming of age adventures from baseball rivalry, sleepovers, to encounters with “The Beast” a large English Mastiff baseball-eating dog that lives over the fence. The Sandlot was released in theaters in 1993 and successfully grossed around $33 million worldwide. Since the release of The Sandlot (over twenty years ago) it has become a cult-favorite and timeless story in which many know the phrase, “You’re killing me Smalls”.
